Description of Position
As a Family Partner supporting the Emergency Services Program, you will be a valuable ally for families and caregivers of those who are experiencing serious emotional difficulties. You will look to your lived experiences and support others as they learn new coping skills. You'll also have unparalleled support and learning opportunities working with a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, supervisors, and physicians. Position is full time, Sunday through Thursday preferred.
- Provide peer support to parents and caregivers served by the ESP
- Be a consistent source of encouragement and hope
- Give non-judgmental, unconditional support
- Model, teach and empower effective coping techniques
- Engage parent/caregiver in activities in the home and community
Qualifications & Experience
- Lived experience as a caregiver of a youth with serious emotional disturbance
- Experience navigating any of the child and family-serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with the child and family serving systems
- Willingness to provide mobile emergency services interventions and follow-up
